Our last video (with special guests joining us at the end!) features recipes for homemade ice cream, chocolate sauce, and whipped cream to make a most deelish chocolate sundae! Perfect for a warm, summery day!
It has been my pleasure to cook with you this semester. Not exactly what we imagined it was going to be, but given the circumstances, I think the video format was super fun! I hope you had a good time too!
Hi Chefs! This week we’re going to make Cream Berry Scones. They are yummy for breakfast- or anytime! This is our 7th class. Next week is our last one! You’ll definitely want to tune in to that one for sweet a surprise!
And don’t forget to watch this week's story, The Word Collector, written and illustrated by Peter Reynolds and read by Michelle and Barack Obama!
Hola Cocineras y cocineros! Here’s this week’s cooking video, best ever recipe- (seriously!) Mayan Mystery Cookies. What is the mystery? I know, I know. I already toldja the secret ingredients. But I didn’t tell you I was going to… dance in the video! Yep. You’ll just have to watch it for yourself to see. And listen to a story, while you’re at it. A Bad Case of Stripes, by David Shannon.
Hello All. I hope you’ve been enjoying the videos! You won’t want to miss this pancake recipe!! It’s a favorite of everyone who tries it- SERIOUSLY! And i take my pancakes seriously! I’m also including a fun story, Arnie the Doughnut, read by Chris O’Dowd. Enjoy! Take good care of each other, Cheers, Ms. O-my-pancake-goodness
Hi Cookers! Here’s another deeelish recipe to make an Apple Crisp. One thing though- if you watch the video see if you can find a red bowl with a plate covering it? Can you find it? Well, sadly i did NOT and guess what?? The red bowl had the brown sugar for the topping of the crisp! UH OH! I forgot to add it when i made the crisp! But guess what? I have two things to say about that. #1. EVERYONE MAKES MISTAKES! and #2. EVERYTHING CAN BE FIXED!
After I realized I had forgotten to add the sugar, i ran to the oven and added the 1/2 cup of brown sugar on top of the topping and mixed it in with a spoon. No one ever knew the difference, least of all my 42 neighbors and friends who I came over to eat it (at a social distance, of course) when it came out of the oven!
Happy Cooking friends! (No, silly, don’t cook your friends!)
Bye for now, Ms. O-my-goodness-I love-anything with apples in it!
Greetings All you Cookiers and Parents, I hope this finds you well! This week for Cookin with Ms. O #3 we will be making Carrot cupcakes with cream cheese frosting… seriously YUMMY! As always, I welcome your feedback. Happy baking!
Hello Cookers and Parents! Welcome to Week 2 of Cookin' with Ms. O! Our class today will teach you how to make yummy Spaghetti Nests with mozzarella eggs! I'm including a pdf of the recipe and shopping list that was sent out last week, in case you need it again, as well as a video demonstration. I've also included a link to a sweet story read by funny Sarah Silverman, A Tale of Two Beasts, that you can watch while your nests are baking. *Parents: Just a heads up- I give a little knife skills demo while chopping spinach. Please use your discretion letting your child use knives, as you are comfortable. Your child can always try a butter knife to practice on something like spinach, while you are standing by. This can make a great lunch or dinner for the whole family! I hope you enjoy it! As always, I would love to hear from you. Send me feedback, ideas, and photos of your creations!
Hello Cookers and Parents! I'm so happy you are joining me this week for our first cooking class! We're making berry galettes- YUM! I'm attaching two video links. Go to #1 and make the galettes. While they are in the oven, you can click the link #2 to watch a cute story about pie and friendship! Please find also attached a pdf of the recipe! I hope you like it! ONE THING I FORGOT TO MENTION: the BUTTER SHOULD BE COLD! Leave it in the fridge until you are ready to use. Please let me know how it all goes, send me pictures of you and your creations, i'd love to see! If you have any questions, I'll be available on Tuesday at our normal class times, from 2:30-3:15 for Kindergarten, and 3:15-4:15 for First-Third graders. Call or text me if you get stuck. My number is 415 601-8444. Let the wild rumpus begin! Cheers, Ms. O.
